Today is a big day for documentary lovers. Not only is Sara Dosa’s enchanting Fire of Love premiering on Disney+, but both the International Documentary Association and Cinema Eye Honors announced nominations for their 2022 awards! We were thrilled to see alums of the Documentary Film Program (DFP), Catalyst, and the Film Festival across the nominations of both associations.
The aforementioned Dosa feature about the lives and love of volcanologist couple Katia and Maurice Krafft is just one of the many Sundance Institute–supported films nominated in several categories across both award shows. Festival favorites including All That Breathes, Mija, and Riotsville, U.S.A., also make strong showings within these esteemed lists.
