Park City, UT-Sundance Institute announced today three seminal films selected for the 2010 Sundance Film Festival’s From the Collection screenings: Metropolitan directed by Whit Stillman; Poison, directed by Todd Haynes; and Harold and Maude, directed by Hal Ashby. Each year the Festival presents retrospective screenings of influential feature-length films from the Sundance Collection at UCLA, paying tribute to significant works in the history of independent film and reminding audiences and our filmmakers of the importance of film preservation. The Sundance Film Festival will run January 21-31, 2010 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Sundance, Utah.

PARK CITY, UTAH — Sundance Institute today announced eight films from the 2010 Sundance Film Festival scheduled to screen in eight different cities nationwide on the night of Thursday, January 28, 2010. The screenings are part of the inaugural Sundance Film Festival USA, a ground-breaking initiative designed to take the Festival experience to local art house audiences who support independent film throughout the year, and to stimulate conversation about the art of filmmaking. The Sundance Film Festival opens January 21 and runs through January 31, 2010.

A collection of digital art, film screenings, multimedia performances, site-specific installations and video presentations will be presented in a fully immersive media lounge environment for Festival goers to experience throughout the Festival. Los Angeles, CA – Sundance Institute and NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) today announced the
twelve finalists for the 2010 Sundance/NHK International Filmmakers Award. In its fourteenth year, this
partnership presents an annual cash award to support new artists in international cinema and is presented to emerging film directors from four global regions in support of their next projects. One recipient each from Europe, Latin America, the United States, and Japan will be selected by members of an international jury.
