Park City, UT—Sundance Institute announced today the preliminary list of official sponsors of the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. Led by Presenting Sponsors Entertainment Weekly, HP, Honda and Sundance Channel, these forward-thinking corporations reflect a commitment to sustaining the vitality of independent film, filmmakers and audiences. The 2010 Sundance Film Festival runs from January 21-31 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah.

Park City, UT — Sundance Institute announced today the selection of 13 artists from six countries whose works will be presented as part of the 2010 edition of New Frontier at Sundance Film Festival. A collection of digital art, film screenings, multimedia performances, site-specific installations and video presentations will be presented in a fully immersive media lounge environment for Festival goers to experience throughout the Festival. Curated by Shari Frilot, Sundance Film Festival Senior Programmer, these works can be experienced at New Frontier on Main, open to the public Thursday, January 21 through Saturday, January 30, 2010.

Los Angeles, CA – Sundance Institute and NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) today announced the
twelve finalists for the 2010 Sundance/NHK International Filmmakers Award. In its fourteenth year, this
partnership presents an annual cash award to support new artists in international cinema and is presented to emerging film directors from four global regions in support of their next projects. One recipient each from Europe, Latin America, the United States, and Japan will be selected by members of an international jury.

Means. The screening and discussion is free to the public and will be held on Wednesday, November 4 at 7 p.

Los Angeles, CA – Sundance Institute announced today the acting company for its 2009 Sundance Institute Theatre Lab at White Oak, which focuses on support for innovative musical theatre as well as on ensemble-generated work. As announced in September, the two projects selected for this season’s Lab are Like Water for Chocolate, a musical adaptation of the best-selling 1989 novel by Mexican author Laura Esquivel composed by Lila Downs and Paul R. Cohen with book by Quiara Alegria Hudes and directed by Jonathan Butterell and Ted Sperling; and Little Miss Sunshine, a musical adaptation of the popular 2006 film written by Michael Arndt and directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris with music and lyrics by William Finn, and book and direction by James Lapine.

The Jordanian desert hills, a storybook setting in itself, provides a perfect backdrop for storytellers to gather. The RAWI Middle East Screenwriters Lab took place earlier this month in Jordan. The lab is an initiative of the Royal Film Commission of Jordan, and this year, one of the fellows is Haifaa Al-Mansour.

Los Angeles, CA Sundance Institute today announced the seven projects chosen to participate in the fifth annual RAWI Middle East Screenwriters Lab run by the Royal Film Commission in consultation with Sundance Institute, to be held in Jordan from October 3-7, 2009. An initiative of the Royal Film Commission of Jordan, the RAWI (an Arabic word that means storyteller) Middle East Screenwriters Lab, is part of Sundance Institute’s Feature Film Program which supports emerging filmmakers from around the world.
Launched in 2005, the RAWI Middle East Screenwriters Lab provides an opportunity for filmmakers from the region to develop their work under the guidance of accomplished Creative Advisors in an environment that encourages storytelling at the highest level.
