Last night the 2022/2023 award season kicked off with some interesting dance numbers and some great fanfare for an excellent season of television. Across the board, fan favorites including The White Lotus, Abbott Elementary, and Succession took home gold.

Here, at the Sundance Institute, we were also thrilled to see the 2022 Sundance Film Festival premiere Lucy and Desi honored with two Creative Arts Emmys! The Amy Poehler–helmed documentary about television icons Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz was recognized for its Outstanding Writing for a Nonfiction Program and Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series/Special.
