The spring and summer months at Sundance Institute are abuzz with creativity as Institute staff, advisors, and fellows gather together for our various labs. These labs are foundational to the Institute’s mission to nurture artists, granting them the space to discuss and workshop their craft. Taking place across the United States, from Santa Fe, New Mexico, all the way to West Adams, Massachusetts, this year’s labs started off with the Native Lab in May, followed by the Directors Lab and Ignite Labs in June. The Feature Film and Documentary Film Producers Labs round out the season in July.
Documenting the creative process and moments of connections between artists, advisors, and staff is imperative to tell the story of the labs. Our content team captures coverage of each lab, and we on the archives team ensure the coverage is received, processed, and accessible for staff, press, researchers, and film fans to help forge connections that uncover the deeper, more impactful story of the Institute.
We are always in awe of the work that takes place at the labs, and by sharing this content more widely, we provide an amazing glimpse into the Institute’s happenings. We are excited to share a photo look-back of the past spring and summer seasons.
Join us in celebrating the incredible artists, creative community, staff, and volunteers that came together to make it happen and ultimately inspire the work we do.
