14 Sundance Projects Nominated for Gotham Awards

Earlier this morning, the nominations from the 31st annual Gotham Awards were announced, and the Sundance Institute would like to congratulate the teams behind 14 projects that screened at the Sundance Film Festival in 2020 and 2021, and/or were supported by the Institute’s artist support programs.

Rebecca Hall’s directorial debut, Passing, was nominated for Best Feature, as well as for the Bingham Ray Breakthrough Director Award, Best Screenplay, Outstanding Lead Performance for Tessa Thompson, and Outstanding Supporting Performance for Ruth Negga. And in the Best Documentary Feature category, all five nominees — Ascension, Faya Dayi, Flee, President, and Summer Of Soul — had their world premieres at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival.

See the full list of Sundance-supported nominees below (noted in bold), and watch the ceremony live on Facebook on November 29 to see who takes home Gotham Awards.
