Through Their Lens: What Cinematographer Amy Vincent Saw at the 2026 Directors Lab

There’s no doubt that you’ve seen the world through Amy Vincent’s eyes. The cinematographer, behind the camera for classic films like Eve’s Bayou, Hustle & Flow, and more, has been bringing filmmakers’ visions to life through her crisp and iconic gaze for years. Even within our own Sundance Film Festival archives, Fray’s viewpoint has graced our screens through 1999’s Jawbreaker, 2006’s This Film Is Not Yet Rated, and 2004’s Home of Phobia.

Earlier this summer, Vincent headed back to the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, for the 2026 Directors Lab. This marks her fourth time as a creative advisor and we knew that Vincent would bring her camera along for the ride.

Vincent sent us some photos that represented her 2026 lab experience. The result, which you can see below, is a series of behind-the-scenes moments that show the calm in the midst of a creative storm.
