So far, most VR is a solo experience. However, some creatives are starting to use VR to stage multi-user experiences and performances. In this session, artists will give 10-minute talks about pieces designed for live viewing or for accommodating multiple participants inside a virtual space.
Moderator Caspar Sonnen (head of new media at IDFA, curator of IDFA DocLab) will guide us through this showcase of live VR and collective VR, with presentations by Aaron Koblin (Life of Us, The Johnny Cash Project, The Wilderness Downtown), Katy Newton (Hocus Focus: What Magicians Can Teach Virtual Reality), Cosmo Scharf (Mindshow),and Nathan Phillips (R). Panels are open to all Festival credential holders on a space-available basis.
