Artist Bio

Emilie Joly

Emilie Joly grew up as a child of the digital world, only to take it a step further towards virtual reality. Inspired by non-linear storytelling, she focuses on interactive narrative experiences that push boundaries between the physical and virtual worlds. Her startup, Apelab, is currently working on the first VR interactive animated series, Sequenced.

Sylvain Joly

Since his childhood, Sylvain Joly has been passionate about stories told in various forms—from comics to movies. However, no form of media has influenced him as much as video games have. Allowing people to participate in and influence narratives is a concept that Joly both embraces and fosters. His role at Apelab is to design worlds visually, find the right look for each project, and manage the artistic and animation teams.

Michaël Martin

Michaël Martin is evolving within two worlds—technology and design—and imagining new bridges between them. He is also working on a new means of expression that aims to reveal a strong symbiosis involving cutting-edge devices and original content. Systematically questioning habits and usage in these domains, breaking mechanisms to their fundamental parts, and drawing the essence of each experience best describes his mindset.
