Cassils Cassils

Cassils uses the physical body as a social sculpture by utilizing performance, photography, sculpture, sound, and video to offer a shared experience for witnessing cycles of violence, struggle, and survival. By scrutinizing the "documentarian truth factor" of mediated images, Cassils juxtaposes the immediacy, urgency, and ephermerality of live performance against constructed acts for the camera.
