Strange things are afoot at Cinema Café. Each morning at 11:30 a.m. in the Filmmaker Lodge, Cinema Café invigorates the culture of conversation. Our daily series of informal chats rounds up special guests for thought-provoking discussions. We are proud to present several Cinema Café discussions in collaboration with TimesTalks, streaming engaging discussions with Festival filmmakers and The New York Times journalists.

Sometimes the most fascinating are the ones you didn’t expect. Artist Bio

John Krasinski

Director, writer, producer, and actor John Krasinski wrote and directed Brief Interviews with Hideous Men, which premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. He next stars as a Navy SEAL in Michael Bay’s Benghazi thriller, 13 Hours, in theaters January 15. Through his Sunday Night banner, Krasinski co-executive produces the hit show Lip Sync Battle. Past credits include Promised Land (which he co-wrote), It's Complicated, Away We Go, Leatherheads, Kinsey, and NBC’s Emmy Award–winning smash The Office.


Thomas Middleditch

Thomas Middleditch currently stars as Richard Hendricks in Silicon Valley, a role for which he earned a 2014 Critics' Choice Award nomination. His other credits include the upcoming The Bronze and animated feature Captain Underpants, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Campaign, The Office, and The Kings of Summer. Thomas performs at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, is a member of The Improvised Shakespeare Company improv group, and creates and performs comedy shorts with College Humor.
