BMI Roundtable Discussion: Music and Film, The Creative Process

About

Sunday, January 21 2:00–4:00 p.m.

The Shop, 1167 Woodside Ave.

What goes into creating a successful film score? What makes for an effective director-composer relationship? In addition to Sundance Composer Lab advisors, we partner filmmakers with the composers they work with to answer these and other questions in this inspired roundtable discussion moderated by Doreen Ringer Ross, BMI vice president of film, TV and visual media relations. Participants will include director of the Sundance Institute Film Music Program Peter Golub, as well as composers and directors Jeff Beal and Lauren Greenfield (Generation Wealth), Sam Bisbee and Rudy Valdez (The Sentence), Kris Bowers and Reinaldo Marcus Green (Monsters and Men), Paul Cantelon and Susan Lacy (Jane Fonda in Five Acts), Miriam Cutler and Kimberly Reed (Dark Money), Laura Karpman (Half The Picture, Inventing Tomorrow), Heather McIntosh and Amy Scott (Hal), Dustin O’Halloran (Puzzle), Craig Wedren (A Futile & Stupid Gesture), and Jongnic Bontemps and Mel Jones (Leimert Park).
