The creative technologists at 8i have developed a remarkable ongoing ethnographic documentary project that employs 3-D volumetric capture, and video recordings of their subjects, placing them in animated environments that reflect their respective backgrounds. Featuring Vine sensation Logan Paul as a gladiator, and Ashley Martin Scott delivering an emotional message to her baby, Reese, as we see her grow from a six-month to a one-year-old. Using volumetric 3-D video to bring real people into virtual reality, #100humans explores an unprecedented sense of presence that brings viewers a lifelike intimate experience.
