  1. NO CONTRIBUTION OR PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A DONATION WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
  2. How to Enter the Contest
    1. "Win a Trip to the 2019 Sundance Film Festival" (“Drawing”) will begin on September 25, 2018, and will end at 11:59 p.m. MT on Tuesday, October 23, 2018.
    2. The Sundance Film Festival is not responsible for lost, illegible, incomplete, or late entries, internet service outages, delays, equipment malfunctions, or any other technological difficulties that may prevent an individual from completing his/her registration.
    3. To participate in the Drawing, you can register and join Sundance Institute membership by clicking one of the buttons in the section above. You can also enter without making a donation by clicking the appropriate button and entering your information. Use of any device to automate entry is prohibited.
    4. If you would like to receive emails from us with the latest news on our Festival, film recommendations, artist interviews, artist opportunities, and more, please click the checkbox in the section above to be added to our email list and click here to view our privacy policy. Subscribing to our email list is not a requirement of entry.
    5. One entry per person is permitted regardless of contribution history or membership status.
    6. You may enter only once. You must provide the information requested to enter and if you are selected as a winner. You may not enter more than once by using multiple email addresses, identities, or devices in an attempt to circumvent the rules. If you use fraudulent methods or otherwise attempt to circumvent the rules, your submission may be removed from eligibility at the sole discretion of Sundance Institute. ENTRANTS MUST USE THEIR OWN EMAIL ACCOUNT REGISTERED IN THEIR OWN NAME AND NOT AN ACCOUNT OWNED BY ANY OTHER PARTY.

  3. Eligibility Restrictions
    1. The Drawing is open to all persons who are 18 years of age or older as of September 25, 2018. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. The Drawing is open to legal residents of the United States and is offered only in the United States. Employees of Sundance Institute and the members of their immediate families and/or households are ineligible to enter or win. The Drawing is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
    2. Entrants are required to provide truthful information. Sundance Institute will disqualify any entry from individuals who do not meet the eligibility requirements and will also delete any entry received from persons under the age of 13 in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.
  4. Prizes
    1. During the week of October 29, 2018, one (1) drawing registrant will be selected to receive one (1) prize, which consists of two (2) round-trip airline tickets between any commercial airport in the United States and Salt Lake City, Utah, between the dates of Friday, February 1, and Monday, February 4, 2018—dates subject to availability; two (2) Sundance Film Festival Awards Weekend Passes; two (2) tickets to the Awards Ceremony and Party; a three (3)-night stay in one (1) room at the Park City Marriott; dinner for two (2) in Park City; and one (1) goody bag of Sundance Film Festival merchandise. No other benefits will be provided. Certain travel restrictions may apply. Winner will be responsible for transportation to and from destination and departure airports. If closest departure airport is Salt Lake City International Airport, no airfare will be awarded. No prize substitutions, cash equivalent, or transfer of prizes permitted except at the sole discretion of the drawing entities. Prize subject to availability and the drawing entities reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to award a prize of greater or equal value if the advertised prize is unavailable. The prize value of $2,350 will be taxable to the drawing winner and will need to be reported to the IRS on a form 1099-MISC. Winner and any travel companion must travel on the same itinerary and are responsible for obtaining all required travel documents. Winner and guest must sign a liability waiver and travel release form upon winning and prior to traveling.
    2. In the event that a prize or prize certificate is mailed to the winner, it will be with the prior written consent of the winner and, therefore, winner assumes the risk of its loss. Sundance Institute is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate.
  5. Selection of Winners
    1. Winner is selected at random with an online number generator using the number of Drawing entries received from September 25, 2018, through October 23, 2018, as the parameters.
    2. Estimated odds of winning are determined by the number of entries received. Winner will be notified by phone and/or email.
    3. Winner Selection and Notification: Winner will be selected by a random drawing under the supervision of Sundance Institute. Winner will be notified via email within five (5) days following selection of Winner. Sundance Institute shall have no liability for Winner’s failure to receive notices due to spam, junk email, or other security settings or for Winner’s provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information. If Winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim the prize within two (2) days from the time award notification was sent, or fails to timely return a completed and executed declaration and release as required, including a signed copy of these Rules, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate Winner selected. Receipt by Winner of the prize offered in this Giveaway is conditioned upon compliance with any and all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY WINNER WILL RESULT IN WINNER’S DISQUALIFICATION AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED.
