Engaging Community Audiences through Independent Film, Music, and Theatre.

Sundance Institute hosts community programs both year-round and at the annual Sundance Film Festival to offer local audiences the chance to experience independent film, theatre, and music through free screenings and discussions.

Share your Sundance experiences. Take pictures and share them with us! Use #sundancelocals when you upload your photos on Instagram and they'll be added to our photo gallery.

Community Screenings

Throughout the year, Sundance Institute partners with community organizations to offer free screenings and discussions.

Sundance Film Festival Locals Screenings

During the Film Festival, Sundance Institute hosts special screenings for Utah residents. From our  High School Screening Series and Townie Tuesday to the beloved Best of Fest screenings, we are proud to offer opportunities for locals to experience the Festival.

Summer Screening Series

During the summer, we host an outdoor screening series at Red Butte Garden in Salt Lake City and in Park City. Grab a blanket, bring your friends, and enjoy Film Festival favorites under the stars.
