Kasem Kharsa, an Egyptian-American who spent his childhood between the United States and Middle East, is developing his feature debut "Shelter," which follows the story of an Iraqi refugee wrongfully accused of war crimes who must piece together his muddled memories in order to save himself. Kasem took his script to the set in a series of intensive rehearsals and workshops at the recent Directors Lab.
