Filmmaker Ramona Emerson is currently at work on her script "Opal," the story of a Navajo girl’s search for inner-strength and personal identity after a run-in with a local bully. Emerson, a Navajo herself from New Mexico, participated in the Native Filmmakers Lab in May to advance her script through workshops and one-on-one mentoring sessions.
