Artist Bio
Shaka King is a writer, director, and producer. Newlyweeds, his first feature, was developed at New York University’s Graduate Film Department, where King received his MFA in 2013. Later that year, the film debuted at the Sundance Film Festival and enjoyed a three-week run at New York’s Film Forum. The bittersweet comedy garnered the director the 2014 Independent Spirit Someone to Watch Award. King is a native and resident of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.Related Media
