Artist Bio

George Sikharulidze

George Sikharulidze was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, and received a BS in media studies from NYU and an MFA in film directing from Columbia University. His short films—including Red Apples, Fatherland, and A New Year—have played at the Sundance Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival and the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, among others. Currently at the Cinéfondation Residence, Sikharulidze is writing Panopticon, a feature exploring adolescent sexuality and Christian fundamentalism in Georgia.
