Theatre Lab at White Oak
In collaboration with the Howard Gilman Foundation, the Sundance Institute Theatre Lab at White Oak (Florida) concluded its tenth season in 2012. This Lab, which supports two projects annually, focuses on the creation of new musical theatre and on work generated by acting companies or ensembles, and now takes place soley at MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA. Unlike the Theatre Lab, where actors are double-cast and rehearse plays on a day on/day off schedule, plays at this Lab are cast individually and rehearse daily—affording musical productions the luxury of ongoing time to develop work without interruption. This Lab provides ensembles with ample time together to work on their unique, shared vocabulary.
Artists are selected by invitation only and through the annual open submission process. Please refer to the guidelines for the Theatre Lab for more information.
The 2013 Theatre Lab at MASS MoCA will take place November 25-December 9, 2012.
