Theatre Lab at White Oak

In collaboration with the Howard Gilman Foundation, the Sundance Institute Theatre Lab at White Oak (Florida) enters its tenth season in 2011. This Lab, which supports two projects annually, focuses on the creation of new musical theatre and on work generated by acting companies or ensembles. Unlike the Theatre Lab, where actors are double-cast and rehearse plays on a day on/day off schedule, plays at White Oak are cast individually and rehearse daily—affording musical productions the luxury of ongoing time to develop work without interruption. This Lab provides ensembles with ample time together to work on their unique, shared vocabulary.

Artists are selected by invitation only and through the annual open submission process. Please refer to the guidelines for the Theatre Lab for more information.

Important Dates

The 2012 Theatre Lab at White Oak will take place October 30-November 13.
