Theatre Lab at MASS MoCA

In our second collaboration with the MASS MoCA, the Sundance Institute Theatre Lab at MASS MoCA (Massachusetts) replaces the Theatre Lab previously held at White Oak in Florida. This Theatre Lab, which supports 2-3 projects annually, focuses on the creation of new musical theatre and on work generated by acting companies or ensembles. Unlike the Theatre Lab at the Sundance Resort, where actors are double-cast and rehearse plays on a day on/day off schedule, plays at MASS MoCA are cast individually and rehearse daily-affording musical productions the luxury of ongoing time to develop work without interruption. This Lab provides ensembles with ample time together to work on their unique, shared vocabulary.

Artists are selected by invitation only and through the annual open submission process. Please refer to the guidelines for the Theatre Lab at the Sundance Resort for more information.

Important Dates

The 2013 Theatre Lab at MASS MoCA will take place November 25-December 9, 2012.
