Last year, TED Prize winner Sugata Mitra unveiled his dream: to transform primary education by empowering children to learn on their own using computers connected to the internet and guided virtual mentors. UK-based filmmaker Jerry Rothwell was awarded the first ever Sundance | TED Prize Filmmaker Award to tell the story of Sugata’s School in the Cloud.
Now, Jerry has provided us with a preview of his film, giving viewers a window into all the work that goes into building the School in the Cloud and a candid look at Sugata Mitra himself.
This preview arrives just as Sundance Institute and TED announce the...

Request for Proposals (RFP)
This year’s TED Prize winner is Charmian Gooch. For the past 20 years Charmian Gooch and her colleagues at Global Witness have been working to expose a global network of anonymous companies that enable corrupt despots to rob a country’s natural resources, fuel regional conflicts, degrade the environment and dodge billions of dollars of taxes.
The $1 million TED Prize will support Charmian’s wish for us to know who owns and controls companies, so that they can no longer be used anonymously against the public good.
