Sundance/Sloan Commissioning Grant & Fellowship Application Guidelines

Here are instructions for submitting your application for the 2012 Sundance/Sloan Commissioning Grant & Fellowship.

Step 1: Fill out the online application. Link at the bottom of the page. The application will require: (Please have all required information prepared, as you will not be able to save the application and return to it at a later time.)

• Synopsis: up to 500 words (1 page) maximum.  Synopsis should not only explain the overall story and major characters but also elaborate on the thematic core and scientific ideas being explored. 
• Please do not submit full treatments or screenplay drafts during this initial application process.  You may be contacted at a later time to submit the full screenplay, treatment, and other materials.
• Biographies of the screenwriter, director, and producers (if applicable).
• A letter of recommendation.
• Application fee of $35 (credit card only).

Step 2: Mail in your completed application by the postmark deadline of September 9, 2011.

• Mail a printed copy of your completed application by September 9, 2011. There will be a link to view and print your completed application in PDF before submitting it electronically.
•  Your letter of recommendation must be included with your application or mailed directly to us by the deadline.

Please do not submit any additional materials including prior films, screenplays, treatments, or source material. We may later request supporting materials such as a full screenplay draft or a treatment (8-15 pages).

All applicants will receive a response via email no later than December 22, 2011.  Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are unable to provide any feedback on individual projects.
