Below is a list of all the elements you will need to apply to the Creative Producing Fellowship and Lab. Please note that information cannot be attached as a file, rather everything must be entered in as text in the online application.
The application for the 2013 Creative Producing Fellowship and Lab is now closed.
Logline (75 word maximum)
Synopsis (500 words maximum)
Director’s Statement (500 words maximum)
Director’s creative intent for the film, which can include the genesis of the story, particular themes of interest, and visual style.
Biographies (250 words maximum each)
Bios for the producer(s), screenwriter(s), and director(s). Please specifically list all notable credits, accolades, education, and experience. You will not be able to attach a resume, bios must be in paragraph form.
Essay Questions (500 words maximum each)
You will need to answer seven essay questions about your work as a creative producer and your strategy for getting your film made. Click here for a full list of questions.
Additional Producers (optional) (500 words maximum)
If you have additional producers on the project who are not applying with you, please describe who they are and the role they will play on the project.
Letter of Recommendation
You will need to supply the name of the person writing your recommendation letter at the time you apply. Your recommender should be someone from the film community who is familiar with your prior creative work, such as a filmmaking colleague or professor, but does not necessarily need to be familiar with your submitted project.
The letter of recommendation will need to be emailed to us no later than 6:00pm PST on February 8, 2013. The letter should be sent to Rebecca_Green@Sundance.org with “Letter of Recommendation” and your name in the subject line. The letter needs to be sent directly from the person who is writing the letter.
Application Fee
An application fee of $35 will need to be submitted at the time you apply (credit card only).
Script
You do not need to submit your script at this time. Starting on March 1st, we will begin requesting additional materials, which include a full script, directing sample, and producing samples for applicants invited to the second round. All applicants will receive a notification via email if they are being invited to the second round no later than March 30, 2013.
