Q: I am a journalist who wants to cover the Sundance Film Festival. What do I do?
A: Online accreditation for the Sundance Film Festival opens in the fall and closes in December. If you are returning journalist, you will receive an email outlining the renewal process. If you are a journalist who has not previously covered the Festival, you will be required to submit an assignment letter as well as samples of coverage. We review every complete application if received by the deadline; no preference is given to those who apply early. We are not be able to notify applicants of their status until the end of December. Given the high number of applicants, we are not able to accommodate everyone. For any questions please contact: presscoverage@sundance.org

Q: I am a journalist who wants to cover the Sundance Institute Lab programs. What do I do?
A: The Institute holds artist Labs at the Sundance Resort in Sundance, Utah; UCross, Wyoming; Manda, Kenya; and Feynan Ecolodge, Jordan. We also hold ShortsLabs in New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles. We welcome press interest and attendance at these Labs; however advanced notice is necessary. For information please contact press@sundance.org.

Q: I am working on a feature article/broadcast story on Sundance Institute. How do I obtain an interview with the appropriate person or persons?
A: The Press Office will do its best to accommodate all requests for interviews with Institute staff and artists, recognizing it is not always possible to do so. In order to meet press deadlines, advanced notice is always appreciated. Please contact press@sundance.org.

Q: How is the nonprofit Sundance Institute related to other Sundance entities?
A: Seven entities comprise the Sundance Group: Sundance Institute, Sundance Film Festival (produced by the Institute), Sundance Cinemas, Sundance Catalog, Sundance Resort, Sundance Channel, Sundance Preserve, and the Redford Center. Each entity is run separately, yet all share the supervision of Group President Robert Redford. There are core philosophies that all entities share that encompass the desire to support new and emerging artists, respect for the environment and create opportunities to learn, discuss, and grow.
