The next Film Forward program takes place in Tucson, Arizona, June 5-9. As we prepared for this program, we realized that its actualization is the culmination of six previous Film Forward programs. Tucson marks the seventh program and the halfway mark for the entire Film Forward program. With each program we continue to fine tune and learn how to best produce and run Film Forward so that we reach truly diverse and underserved audiences and create programs that are meaningful and last beyond our presence in the region. The Tucson program is the perfect embodiment of all our efforts. Our local presenters The Loft Cinema and the Tucson Pima Arts Council have gone above and beyond to find audiences that would not typically visit the art house cinema.

Debra Granik's Winter's Bone.

Screenings will be held at The Loft but also at a wide range of institutions and organizations including the Tucson Chinese Cultural Center and the Joel D. Valdez Main Library. In addition to working with the University of Arizona, our collaboration with The Loft and PIMA has led to a great connection with local artists. We look forward to enriching workshops with students and aspiring and accomplished filmmakers. Please see the list of venues and outreach below, and if you are in the Tucson area, we hope you will join us for one or more of these events.
