Patrons who purchased tickets online must pick up their tickets during normal business hours at any Main Box Office (see hours and locations in the Box Office Information section above.) You must present photo ID to be issued your tickets. Please pick up your tickets at least TWO HOURS before your first screening time. Tickets for screenings prior to 10:00 a.m. should be picked up the day before as heavy traffic is expected in the Main Box Office during the early morning hours. Tickets for screenings after 7:00 p.m. must be picked up during regular Main Box Office hours. There is no Ticket Pickup at the theatres. I'm planning to attend the Festival with a group. What's the best way to get tickets?

Ticket Packages are a great option for small groups, which you can supplement with Advance Individual Tickets and/or additional Festival Credentials. Because Ticket Package Holders have priority ticket selection and can select up to four ticket per one screening, a group can arrange to see movies together. Helpful hint: if you’re planning to split a package, register every member of your group and use the earliest purchase timeslot(s) that you receive to have the best chance of getting your first choice(s). Just keep in mind that whoever gets the timeslot you use will have to be the person who picks up the tickets. Also note, because our inventory is limited, Sundance has difficulty accommodating groups of more than four people. If you're coming with five + be prepared with plenty of backup options and to split up your group if your first choices don’t work out.

Are there limits to what I can buy?

Yes. Festival Pass and Ticket Package purchases are limited to one Festival Pass/Ticket Package per item type, with a limit of four Festival Passes and/or Ticket Packages per transaction. Individual Ticket sales are limited to 20 ticket per order with a maximum of four tickets per screening. Any exceptions (limit of 2 of the same item, usually passes only) that apply will be listed with the pass or package description along with instructions on how to obtain multiple passes.

When I arrive at the Festival, I discover that tickets to the film I want to see are no longer available. What can I do?

This is THE question. And you may feel like you've tried EVERYTHING. But just remember that the best-kept secret of navigating the Festival is that where there's a will, there's a way. Here are a few of your options:

Day-of-Show Sales

Didn't get the tickets you wanted to a sold-out screening? Visit our Main Box Offices in Salt Lake City or Park City to get tickets to previously unavailable screenings. Each morning of the festival at 8:00 a.m., the Main Box Offices in Park City and Salt Lake City release a limited number of tickets to that day's screenings. Tickets for each theatre's first screening of the day are released at 8:00 a.m. the day before. Day-of-Show Tickets must be purchased in-person; they are not available by phone or online.

The Waitlist

The Waitlist is a Sundance tradition. Although many films appear to be “sold-out”  or if you can’t make it to Main Box Office, you can still join our electronic eWaitlist at two hours before a scheduled showtime and just show up directly at the theatre. Register for the Sundance Film Festival eWaitlist at ewaitlist.sundance.org. More information is here. Waitlist tickets are only $15 each (cash only).

Off Screen Options

Don't despair if you just can't find that ticket. There are film panels, concerts, cutting-edge media installations, and more in addition to our regular program of films. Events run all day, every day at Festival venues like the Filmmaker Lodge, Festival Co-op, the Sundance ASCAP Music Café,  New Frontier, and Sundance House presented by HP. And there's always something happening at Festival Headquarters at the Park City Marriott.

What's the best way to find out about schedule changes, including any added screenings?

Check theatres, Main Box Offices, Information Booths, and sundance.org/festival for the latest info on any changes to the schedule, including "TBAs"-a placeholder in the film schedule that allows Festival programmers to add screenings of popular films. You can also call our Ticketing Hotline at 888-285-7790 or (435) 776-7878 for up-to-date Festival information and follow @sundancefestnow on Twitter.

What methods of payment are accepted at the main box offices?

We accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or cash. We DO NOT accept checks, money orders, or foreign currency.

Do you offer discounted tickets for kids, students, military, or senior citizens?

We offer a limited number of student and military discounts for Ogden Peery’s Egyptian Theatre screenings only (online and at the Main Box Offices). There is a $5 discount per ticket.  ID must be presented at time of ticket pickup or purchase.

Tickets to films in the “Sundance Kids” category are $10 only (online, in-person and in the waitlist).

Sorry, but we do not offer any senior citizen discounts.

What if I cannot attend a screening?

All ticket sales and fees are final and non-refundable. However, tickets may be exchanged at the Main Box Offices up to two hours in advance of the printed screening time based on availability - a $2.00 per ticket fee applies. No ticket pickup or exchanges will be made at the individual theatre box offices. Be sure to select your tickets according to your arrival plan and the Main Box Offices' hours of operation. Refunds are not given for non-collected tickets ordered online.
