ABOUT NEXT WEEKEND
Celebrating the renegade spirit of independent filmmaking, Sundance Institute presents NEXT WEEKEND, a four-day film festival in Los Angeles featuring screenings, panels, parties, and filmmaker workshops. The event is an extension of the NEXT <=> section at the Sundance Film Festival, which showcases stylistically adventurous films that take a bold approach to storytelling. Over one summer weekend, L.A. film lovers have the chance to see eight yet-to-be-released feature films and engage with filmmakers, cast, and crew. NEXT WEEKEND includes films that have been featured in the Festival’s NEXT <=> section, as well as additional selections.
Some of the many films that have premiered in the NEXT <=> section at the Sundance Film Festival include Bellflower, Compliance, Sleepwalk With Me, and Sound Of My Voice. NEXT WEEKEND takes place Aug. 8-11, 2013, at Sundance Cinemas and additional venues throughout Los Angeles.
