2012 Sundance Theatre Lab
A Sundance Institute Artist Program (read about our programs)
The Theatre Lab, which shepherds up to eight new plays annually, is unique in its day-on, day-off rehearsal structure. This schedule affords each Fellow time to fully explore rewrites of her/his work without pressure of producing pages for rehearsals each day. The process culminates in a closed presentation of each project for the Lab community followed by a feedback session led by the Producing Artistic Director and Theatre Lab creative team.
Theatres that have commissioned work selected for the Theatre Lab are welcome to attend both the presentation and feedback session for their project as observers at their own expense. Projects are selected through an annual open submission process (this generally happens in the fall).
Participants in this program are selected through a competitive audition process.
