Congratulations to Sundance Institute Artist Trustee Lynn Nottage for her win of the prestigious Steinberg Award for playwriting.
Lynn has been both a Fellow in Sundance Institute's Theatre Program and a Creative Advisor at Labs in Utah, White Oak and most recently at Governor's Island. She's an ardent supporter of Sundance Institute and has been instrumental in helping us encourage new playwrights and directors. In the spring of 2010, we asked her (and she graciously accepted) to participate in our Artist Trustee program, in which alumni serve as influential members of our Board and have enlightened decision-making in every aspect of the Institute.
She won the Steinberg Award for her body of work that includes the 2008 Pulitzer Prize winning play Ruined. Read the full New York Times article. It could not have gone to a more deserving or passionate artist. Congrats!
